Mile out-of-town man coming down dirt road from the East.. saw his walk in rhythm to an old song by ‘The Police’..

had an orphan story about his social roots.. with a hammer in one hand.. other held new boots..

     said he was dissatisfied chickens would not molt.. concept was a good thing but he lived in nuts and bolts..

     ‘time for action drastic’.. he spoke of control freeze.. pictures solid on the wall.. to look at.. if you please.. said a crazy in his mind would not let him think.. pictures must hold be in place.. or he has to drink..

‘oh’ said sister Linda.. ‘pity’ came from Beth.. fix life pictures to a post.. or smell booze on his breath..

When I was a child of about ten I learned of batteries and how they are charged.. shortly before this I learned the definition of a ‘Perpetual motion’ engine or motor..  I asked those I could why they did not develop this type of power for cars.. etc. 

The answer was not an answer.. just ‘the parts would wear out’.. which of course is true with any machine..

As an adult this makes me realize that though we had the technology to do ‘clean motors’ long ago it was not done.. 

We did not lose the ozone and healthy air, in a great many places, to mechanical or ecological ignorance.. it was greed..

One look at the farce of smog devices over the years tells me a lot.. the only relief apparent from smog came with the commercial advent of unleaded gas..  Peace Tony
