Could not understand to write how it came around.. something passed from nature.. gently handed down..
Young cowboy was walking Main St. of a cattle town.. just as those before him raindrops turn the dry earth brown..
Gunman down with whiskey laid with a barroom doll.. troubled mind on waking up.. just could not recall..
He could speak at card games.. been in gunfights done the deed.. catch phrase to a gossip.. say it quiet.. plant a seed..
Boredom.. doubt came about.. target for old ills.. gambler with his card deck.. smiled at a chance for thrills..
Accused the young cowboy.. said he should hang and fall.. the young cowboy had witnesses ‘the flowers saw it all’
My heart sunk as I watched.. could not joke or laugh.. magicians ran the town they would saw the kid in half..
What can I do?.. I wondered.. in the laughs and cries.. then silence as a Sunflower of weight and size.. entered putting down his cane.. hung his derby hat.. saying ‘I have depositions from ten thousand yards and flats’.. the rest was done as if by magic.. all along in song.. each daisy.. rose.. poppy with clothes.. chorused.. ‘He done no wrong’..
Need to say some talked away what they saw and heard.. come down to ‘ridiculous’.. ‘could not be’.. ‘absurd’..
I Take no license.. or credit.. did not do a thing.. but as I tell this story.. I heard the flowers sing..
Thought.. ‘As nature always knows’.. Peace Tony
