Victims of the War

COULD BE ANYTIME IN HISTORY. JUST THE NUMBERS CHANGE WITH POPULATIONS AND WHAT THOSE ‘IN THE KNOW’ SAY IS THE ‘HAPS’ OF ANY GIVEN TIME, MOSTLY FOR ANY GIVEN MONEY! 🙂

Fire out smoke drifts

I strained my eyes to see

Who could have survived?  Is something alive?

Down the hill they staggered

Eyes saw nothing more  Victims of the war

               The dirty stupid war

Hillside made too real   Tattooed red with gore

Hunger smiles at babes  Homeless by the score

                         Victimizing sane

Decency and more      Victims of the War

              The dirty stupid war

Each back had a title  Words lost for some time  Love is titled so

                    Taken in a crime

                          Dancers glorious like inebriates

Lurching out of time

           Through hells burning gates

                       Demon eyes black coal

                               Infants brandish knives

                                      Blood splash on their souls

           War Medals for lives

                              Children will destroy

                                       Boredom will contrive

On and on they came

           All through history

                      Greed bought peace again

                                    No real mystery

I find it disturbing and unrealistic that war exists.. still..

I would challenge anyone to debate the value of war.. I will argue benefits of .. Peace Tony
