A Friend From Past Times..

Walk home late night Saturday..some years gone I walked this way..through graveyard from cowboy times..real deal walk with ghostly mimes..

Dark dirt road over a hill..pioneer time..blood was spilled..no Thanksgiving turkey roast..just a tale heard from a ghost..

Spirit abstract spoke to me..said ‘seems like eternity..since I had a chance to say..how I came to be this way’..

‘Will you listen..you can hear..listen to my love and fears..Mary me old horse I rode..stopped to see a horny toad’..

‘Drank whiskey took from the vat..courage, fine! just where it’s at..felt like Spring..but it was fall..heard indians’ coyote call’..

‘Covey quail to blue sky..love feel stong met heart met eye..death was carried there to me..blinded by love could not see’..

‘Indian wild eyes did gape..killed I could not stop a rape..horror story from my love..witnessed only by a dove’..

Finally I found my voice..’you lived in courage..made a choice..to live daring..to live free..caring love..to sense to see’..

Eternal is the cowboy there..timeless in his guilt compare..from what was..what could not be..past seconds..his eternity

Said goodbye did a dance..he had known love..took a chance..biggest gamble..stakes are shown..greatest rewards ever known..

Not react..or judgement see..makes my love or destiny..just some honor..from sensed real..just a love..to chance to feel..

If every moment of every time..was lived in loving..what a world it could be..Peace Tony

This is great Tony. I know you have a pic of Deadwood but I couldn’t help but think of Tombstone, AZ after reading this.
