The following was copied and pasted from Wikipedia. They have a great deal of reasearch on
‘enemies of the internet’ a site which I found, at Wikipedia, most enlightening. Know the enemy.. teach them how expression is more important to survival in good sense and privacy.. than their greed..
A friend who was born in Mexico recently lost his mother. He went to the Central Republic to say his goodbyes. He will never go back.. he witnessed people being robbed and murdered on the highway.. busses being stopped and everything of value pirated.. this will never be the way.. I feel alienation of our closest neighbors has to be part.. possibly most at fault. We now have hostility just below our Southern borders that may take a long, long time to heal..
Warmongering, greed, denial or human rights and a lack of humble respect for living things and the gift of life are most horrible. What it costs for one day of war could vaccinate, educate and feed how many?..
I think the internet is wonderful for the computer which never fails to amaze me as a tool.. these folks want it too.. no one should be silenced by the fear of others.. it does not work.. it causes violent reaction and war.. this is proven in recent modern history.. indeed through all history.. censoring is the tool of those afraid to think or grow.. Peace Tony
In 2006, Reporters without Borders (Reporters sans frontières, RSF), a Paris-based international non-governmental organization that advocates freedom of the press, started publishing a list of “Enemies of the Internet”.[8] The organization classifies a country as an enemy of the internet because “all of these countries mark themselves out not just for their capacity to censor news and information online but also for their almost systematic repression of Internet users.”[9] In 2007 a second list of countries “Under Surveillance” (originally “Under Watch”) was added. Both lists are updated annually.[10]
